In the process of spiritual development, awareness, evaluation, self-organization, the need for cognition and creativity, which are embodied in the process of self-creation, are of particular importance. Thus, self-creation is an internal active principle, the core essence of a personality, which provides the possibility of its development. Therefore, the study of the concept and the process of self-creation is extremely relevant. In the process of spiritual development, awareness, evaluation, self-organization, the need for cognition and creativity, which are embodied in the process of self-creation, are of particular importance. Thus, self-creation is an internal active principle, the core essence of the personality, which provides the possibility of its development. Therefore, the study of the concept and the process of self-creation is extremely relevant.

The purpose of the article is to analyze the relationship between spirituality and the process of self-creation and to identify the main characteristics and structural components of the spiritual development of the individual.

Spirituality is manifested in various manifestations of a person’s activity, primarily in his or her behavior, activities and interaction with other people. Therefore, an important condition for self-creation is independence and freedom.

The main characteristics of spirituality include activity as a self-creative activity that gives the spirit the ability to be a universal force. On the basis of the spirit in its integrity, human cognitive activity and thinking arise and are actualized [4, p. 7-8].

Of particular importance in the formation and development of a person’s spirituality is the need for constant cognition, self-improvement, developed mechanisms of self-regulation that provide the opportunity to fully actualize and realize their potential and thus realize themselves [2; 3].

Structural components of spirituality are formations in the structure of consciousness and self-awareness of a person, which reflect his or her most relevant morally relevant needs, interests, views, attitudes towards the surrounding reality, towards other people, towards oneself, which have become subjectively significant regulators of activity [1].

A spiritually developed personality not only realizes the crucial importance of morality in human relations, in the development of society on humanistic principles, but also actively asserts the moral principle in everyday life – in relation to other people, to oneself. Self-creation is possible if a person has powerful creative potentials and the ability to realize them in accordance with his or her will. This realization is carried out through an act.

If we consider spirituality in its developed, perfect state, it can be interpreted as a stable personal property of a person, acquired through certain innate psychophysiological capabilities, which in the process of mastering individual life experience constructively interacted with social influences (including specially organized educational activities), which in their systemic combination contributed to the formation of an individual as an active subject of social activity, capable of making life choices (actions), for which the person is responsible.

It should be noted that it is wrong to associate spirituality only with certain spheres, aspects of human life, for example, with religious faith, attitude to works of art, literature, moral issues, human relationships, etc. Everything that a person does, how he or she behaves, what values and needs motivate his or her activity can be characterized from the standpoint of spirituality. It is from this position that the essence of human behavior can be explained, since it is spirituality that is the leading determinant of behavior, activity of the individual and his or her self-creation.

Prospects for further scientific research are seen in the development of methodological and methodological foundations for organizing the study of the process of self-creation in the context of the psychology of spirituality; identification and classification of the structural components of self-creation and methods of their study.
